My name is Ulf Holmberg, and IŽve been a
hobbyist blacksmith since late 1997. This site is about this hobby of mine, and a little
about how and what IŽve done so far. YouŽll find that much in here is pretty basic, but
some of it might be of interest to professionals too. Maybe it can serve as a source of
inspiration for those of you that are thinking about taking up blacksmithing as a hobby. My inspiration comes from both the present and the past, and creating an item of today using techniques of yesterday can be a pretty nice combination. I like to do forged jewelery, and there is a lot of possibilities using ancient symbols in your own interpretation. What I like best about blacksmithing is that there is really no limitations to what you can do, except for your own imagination and skill of course. |
Then, when you are working at the forge, feeling the smell of coal and tar, watching the glow of the fire and listening to the hammer blows, all the everyday problems and worries seem to be very far away. So, I bid you all very welcome to take part in the blacksmithing hobby!
